The Challenge

Tradefair manages an extensive programme of overseas exhibitions in partnership with the Department for International Trade (DIT) and techUK. With an established network of professional service providers, Tradefair purchase premium event space and offer full logistical support, including freight and travel. Therefore, speed, flexibility and agility were of high priority when developing a roadmap that is aligned to their business objectives.

Tradefair’s Managing Director, Mark, contacted Cantium as he was looking for a local IT provider that was able to deliver fully managed IT services for small businesses, as well as develop a bespoke IT strategy and roadmap. Coming into work early every day to get his staff’s computers ready, moving access points and completing server maintenance became routine tasks for Mark. Cantium has stepped in to provide a fully managed ICT service that allows Mark to shift his focus back to running his business. As a local provider, we provide remote support but can also get to site quickly to resolve any issues that may arise.

Cantium identified that moving Tradefair’s existing server to Microsoft Azure would provide Mark and his team with more flexibility in addition to fitting their financial needs. The pay as you go model with Microsoft Azure enables businesses to only pay for the space that they need when they need it. Without the upfront costs of a new server, Mark could prioritise Tradefair’s IT strategy and work with Cantium to design and deliver a roadmap that helped achieve their business objectives.

We also recognise the importance of a service desk to manage all aspects of the ICT service that Cantium will deliver to Tradefair. Our service desk provides Tradefair with unlimited access to technologies to resolve their IT issues quickly and effectively to avoid business interruption.

How Managed ICT Services Support Small Businesses like Tradefair

Cantium’s service model and selection of technologies support flexibility and accessibility, enabling Tradefair’s staff to excel. Technology is now positioned as an enabling factor at all levels of customer activity, with remote support provided to address any issues that the team may experience throughout the day. This support includes Tradefair’s desktops, broadband service, Wired, wireless and Local Area Network (LAN), as well as their Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephony system.

By providing straight forward support and management, we maintain a consistent support structure that helps Tradefair achieve their technology goals.

As well as adding the value of being a local partner for Tradefair, we have saved Mark a minimum of 100 minutes per week that was spent setting up his staff’s devices. We have also freed up office space, which was used as a make-shift server room, so that Tradefair can increase the size of their business as their organisation grows.
