Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust choose Cantium as their payroll provider

As Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust’s (KCHFT) existing payroll contract was scheduled to expire in October 2018, the Trust began looking into new payroll provisions. It was Cantium Business Solutions’ proven track record of expertise in providing flexible and scalable payroll for the health sector that ultimately lead to us being approached by KCHFT in 2018 to deliver a fully managed payroll and pension solution for the Trusts 5000+ staff on the monthly payroll and over 2,600 on the weekly bank payroll.

The Challenge

Due to the Trust coming to end of their existing payroll contract they needed to set a non-negotiable go live date of the 1st November 2018. In addition to the time frame constraints, KCHFT had a list of key requirements that needed to be included within their managed payroll and pension solution:

98% of calls have a
duration of five minutes
Asset 18
All new starters are
processed within the 3
day SLA
Asset 21
99.5% monthly
payroll accuracy
Reduction of overpayments, finance queries and advanced payments

The Result for Payroll in the Health Sector

Working closely with KCHFT, Cantium quickly established a dedicated transition and onboarding project team consisting of payroll and project management experts who fully managed the service transition and engagement with Shared Business Services (SBS). The project team successfully transitioned to our payroll service on the 1st November 2018 and continued to provide a period of hyper-care in the first 3 months; ensuring continuity of service to both the Trust and its employees as well as maintaining full statutory compliance.

Cantium are a local payroll provider, which enables more frequent meetings with the Trust, allowing communication to improved. This approach has allowed us to quickly begin developing the relationships that now form the basis of our partnership as well as ensuring the delivery of a well-run and successful payroll service for the Trust.

Following the successful transition to our payroll service, KCHFT were able to realise a range of both financial and added value benefits including:
